i've come upon a wonderful site called the beehive co-op. it introduced to me the idea that as consumers we should not only consider how far our food travels but how far our fashion and other luxury items travel ("fashion miles"). all of the items are handmade. here are some of my favorite picks from the beehive shop:

i like to rearrange things in my house. my family is not too fond of this habit but it gives me a great deal of pleasure. i'd like some new colors in my living room so i hear that one of the best ways to accomplish this is by changing accessories like the pillows on a couch. well, on my etsy search (there are sooo many great pillows on etsy!) i came across this incredible Japanese designer Hitomi Kimura who hand prints her fabrics. they are stunning. each and every one. just the shot of color and pattern i need. and if you are in need of a fab journal for a rainy day or tea cozy she's got that too.
