Hello, Halloween.

Hello OSH friends! Greetings from California,

I have to admit, this holiday has always made me a little uncomfortable.

Sitting in the hammock chair reading Sunset magazine. When did Sunset magazine get so awesome? I suppose when low -water garden grasses became fascinating to me!

And finally, a poem for you:

A.E. Stallings
Triolet on a Line Apocryphally Attributed to Martin Luther

Why Should the Devil get all the good tunes,
The booze and the neon and Saturday night,
The swaying in darkness, the lovers like spoons?
Why should the devil get all the good tunes?
Does he hum them to while away Saturday afternoons
And the long, lonesome Sundays? Or sing them for spite?
Why should the Devil get all the good tunes,
The booze and the neon and Saturday night?

love...

"To say that I am made in the image of God is to say that love is the reason for my existence, for God is love. Love is my true identity. Selflessness is my true self. Love is my true character. Love is my name."

- Thomas Merton,
from A Book of Hours

I know, high expectations -the pressure to be Love. I can only keep trying. paz, k

trading cards...

i love the ritualistic practice of making artist trading cards. there is so much texture and passion and life put into each one. i would love to take a class on how to make them. i have seen some extraordinary examples and think they are miniature masterpieces. women are so very creative. do you make them?

happy sunday. paz, k
